Martens Hardness of CAD/CAM Resin-Based Composites

نویسندگان

چکیده

(1) Background: The properties of CAD/CAM resin-based composites differ due to differences in their composition. Instrumented indentation testing can help analyze these with respect hardness, as well energy-converting capabilities viscoelastic behavior. (2) Methods: Eleven materials were investigated using instrumented testing. Indentation depth (hr), Martens hardness (HM), (HIT), modulus (EIT), the elastic part work (ηIT), and creep (CIT) investigated, statistical analysis was performed one-way ANOVA, Bonferroni post-hoc test, Pearson correlation (α = 0.05). (3) Results: All parameters revealed between analyzed materials. Besides hardness-associated (hr, HM, HIT), demonstrated properties. subsequent ANOVA significant (p < 0.001). A 0.01, >0.576) HIT, or EIT identified. (4) Conclusions: Due found materials, certain could show superior stress-breaking than others. consequential reduction stress build-up may prove beneficial, especially for implant-retained restorations patients suffering from parafunctions.

Assessing degradation of composite resin cements during artificial aging by Martens hardness

BACKGROUND Aim of the study was to verify the efficiency of Martens hardness measurements in detecting the degradation of composite resin cements during artificial aging. METHODS Four cements were used: Variolink II (VL2), RelyX Unicem 2 Automix (RUN), PermaFlo DC (PDC), and DuoCem (DCM). Specimens for Martens hardness measurements were light-cured and stored in water at 37 °C for 1 day to al...

Effect of resin thickness, and curing time on the micro-hardness of bulk-fill resin composites

BACKGROUND Bulk-fill resin composite has been introduced, their manufacturers claimed that they can be applied in bulks of 4mm, without necessitating a prolonged curing time, or a light curing unit with increased irradiance. Thus this study was conducted to evaluate the effect of resin thickness, and curing time on the micro-hardness of two bulk -fill resin composites; Tetric Evo-Ceram [TE], an...

Influence of aging solutions on wear resistance and hardness of selected resin-based dental composites.

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different plasticizing aging solutions on wear resistance and hardness of selected universal resin-based dental composites. METHODS Three light cured (one nanofilled, two microhybride) and one hybride chemical cured composites were aged at 37 °C for 48 h in distillated water, ethyl alcohol solution or Listerine mouthwash. Afte...

Nanoparticle-reinforced resin-based dental composites.

OBJECTIVE TiO(2) nanoparticles treated with the organosilane allyltriethoxysilane (ATES) are used to improve the mechanical properties of dental resin-based composites (RBCs, Z100, 3M ESPE). METHODS TiO(2) nanoparticles were sonically dispersed in an ethanol solution containing ATES. The modified particles were washed in pure ethanol and dried before being used as filler. Fourier transform in...

Effect of pre-heating on depth of cure and surface hardness of light-polymerized resin composites.

PURPOSE To evaluate the depth of cure and surface hardness of two resin composites when subjected to three preheating temperatures, three polymerization times and two types of curing lights. METHODS Two resin composites were used in this study (Esthet-X and TPH), three polymerization times (10, 20, 40 seconds), three preheating temperatures (70, 100, 140 degrees F/21.1, 37.7 and 60 degrees C)...
